Berlin to raise trade with Tehran to €10 billion
President of German Chambers of Commerce Eric Schweitzer said that his country is to increase trade with Iran in short-term period to 5 billion euros and in mid-term to 10 billion euros.

Schweitzer, who was accompanying German Economic Minister Sigmar Gabriel in his visit to Iran last week, told German Daily Ostoringer Zeitung that visit of German vice-chancellor to Iran was arranged just six days after nuclear deal which was a promising sign for German economy.

Reminding that trade balance between Tehran and Berlin was 5 billion euros in 2005, he said the number decreased to only 2.7 billion in 2014.

Gabriel earlier told reporters in Iran that German companies want to hold sustainable and permanent cooperation with Iran in economic field.

During 2014, Germany was Iran's 14th importer of non-oil goods. Iran exported $345 million non-oil goods to German and imported $2.23 billion goods from the country during last year.
