The Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Products Exporters’ Union of Iran (OPEX) is one of Iran’s largest and most established private-sector business associations in the energy sector, representing approximately 410 producing and exporting companies.
OPEX was established on February 3, 2004, with the participation of 54 private companies and under the authorization of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture. As its membership and activities expanded, the Union adopted its current name in 2005 to reflect its broader role in Iran’s oil, gas and petrochemical industries.
For more than two decades, OPEX has served as a professional platform connecting Iran’s private sector with international companies, buyers, investors, trade organizations, chambers of commerce, diplomatic missions and other business partners.
International Trade & Private-Sector Cooperation
One of OPEX’s principal missions is to promote and facilitate international trade and B2B cooperation between its members and companies worldwide.
Through its extensive network of members, OPEX facilitates international cooperation in the export of Iranian oil, gas and petrochemical products, while supporting the development of new markets and long-term commercial relationships.
