Sales of imported premium gasoline to begin Sunday
SHANA (Tehran) – The government spokesperson announced that sales of imported premium gasoline will begin Sunday, emphasizing that the move will not affect quotas for first- and second-tier subsidized gasoline.
Fatemeh Mohajerani said Saturday on a television program that the supply of imported premium gasoline aligns with a cabinet decision and responds to the needs of certain groups. She stressed that the measure is entirely separate from the pricing of regular gasoline and that no changes will be made to subsidized gasoline quotas.

On Wednesday, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad said on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting that imported premium gasoline would be offered on the energy exchange “next week, God willing.” He said the private sector is responsible for importing the fuel and that it will be priced based on its final cost. The base price set by the exchange is slightly more than 65,000 tomans, he said, adding that additional costs such as transportation, distribution and legal fees may apply and will be clarified once finalized.
