SHANA (Tehran) – The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) announced that 1.12 billion liters of gasoline at the first rate and 1.866 billion liters at the second rate have been loaded onto fuel cards for gasoline-powered vehicles in December. He added that both single-fuel and dual-fuel vehicles have a large balance of the 3,000-toman quota, which can be used during the last eight days of December, eliminating the need to use station emergency cards.
Keramat Veis-Karami said that for the country’s 31 million active fuel cards, a total of 1.12 billion liters of gasoline at the first rate of 1,500 tomans were credited to smart fuel cards for gasoline vehicles in Azar. As of Dec. 12, 748 million liters had been used, leaving around 370 million liters still on the cards.
Regarding consumption at the second rate of 3,000 tomans, he said 1.866 billion liters were credited in December for gasoline vehicles. By Dec. 12, only 186 million liters had been used. Following the rollout of the new gasoline plan on Dec. 13 and the removal of first- and second-rate quotas for some vehicles, 1.379 billion liters at the second rate remain on smart fuel cards. People can use this quota until the end of Azar (Dec. 21).
Veis-Karami also detailed the quotas for dual-fuel vehicles in December. A total of 64 million liters at the first rate were credited, with 46 million liters used by Dec. 12. For the second rate, 213 million liters were credited, of which only 30 million liters had been used by the same date.
He emphasized that in the last eight days of Azar, all vehicles, whether single-fuel or dual-fuel, have large balances of the 3,000-toman quota and can use them without needing emergency station cards. As in the past, first-rate quotas are stored on smart cards for up to six months, while second-rate quotas remain for up to one month.
