SHANA (Tehran) – The project manager for the development of the Yaran oil field said an electric submersible pump (ESP) has been successfully installed and commissioned in Well No. 2 at the North Yaran oil field as part of the field’s northern development plan to enhance production stability.
According to the Oil Engineering and Development Company, Hossein Mohseni-Zonouzi said the ESP was installed in line with the company’s policy to deploy modern artificial lift technologies in fields facing natural pressure decline. The pump was set at a depth of 2,130 meters and designed with a capacity of 100 cubic meters per day, 204 stages and a 54-kilowatt motor. The system enables daily production of up to 500 barrels of oil and helps maintain stable flow during long-term operations.
He said equipment selection, transportation, completion string running, ESP installation and performance testing were carried out in cooperation with technical teams from the West Karoun Fields Development Management, along with operations, HSE and drilling services units. All post-installation tests, including those for the motor, power cable, protector system and flow measurements, were successfully completed and approved.
Mohseni-Zonouzi said the project is a key step in improving well productivity, preventing production decline and enhancing operational performance indicators. He added that the installation reflects the company’s broader approach to using advanced technologies to strengthen production sustainability at the Yaran oil field.
