Iran, Turkmenistan review transport, trade, energy issues

Sadegh appreciated the president and foreign minister of Turkmenistan for expressing sympathy with the Islamic Republic of Iran over the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and a number of IRGC commanders, officials, and citizens, as well as for their country's humanitarian aid.

She called for the strengthening of economic and transport cooperation between the two countries.

The official also thanked Turkmenistan for its stance following recent attacks on Iran, saying: “Since the beginning of the US-Israeli attacks on Iran, we have witnessed positive stances and sincere actions from Turkmenistan.”

Sadegh lauded Turkmenistan’s action to extend working hours at the land borders to 13 hours, which is a pressing need to facilitate road transport under these circumstances and is in the interest of both countries as well as the Central Asian nations.

This action has eliminated and reduced traffic congestion at the borders, the minister noted.

Meanwhile, Meredov expressed his country’s readiness to hold the joint economic commission with Iran at the earliest opportunity, noting that he would follow up on the issues raised by Iran’s minister.

Turkmenistan’s borders have remained open to Iran since the US-Israeli aggression against Iran.
