Araqchi Informs Pakistan of Iran’s Stances on Ceasefire
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi briefed the Pakistani prime minister on Tehran’s positions regarding the latest ceasefire developments in the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, while also discussing bilateral ties and regional issues.
Araqchi, who is visiting Islamabad for consultations, met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday.

In the meeting, also attended by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, the two sides discussed bilateral relations, cooperation in various fields, and regional and international developments.

The Pakistani prime minister highlighted the determination of the senior leadership of both countries to continue strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation at multilateral levels and within international organizations.

Sharif also expressed confidence that this course would continue firmly in line with the shared interests of the two neighboring Muslim nations.

Araqchi, for his part, pointed to the emphasis of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on expanding comprehensive ties with neighboring countries, particularly Pakistan.

Araqchi underscored Pakistan’s special place in Iran’s foreign policy and reiterated Tehran’s resolve to further develop relations between the two countries.

The Iranian foreign minister also expressed appreciation for the efforts of senior Pakistani officials in working to end the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, as well as their role in facilitating a ceasefire and hosting negotiations.

Araqchi outlined Iran’s principled positions regarding the latest developments related to the ceasefire and the complete cessation of the imposed war.

He further referred to the continued crimes committed by the Israeli regime in the occupied Palestinian territories and its repeated violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while appreciating the stances of the Pakistani government and people in supporting the Palestinian nation and Islamabad’s efforts to implement the ceasefire understanding in Lebanon.
