Mohammad-Javad Askari, head of the Parliament Agriculture Committee, praised the Ministry of Oil’s performance during the third imposed war, saying that thanks to the ministry’s extensive management, people across the country faced no fuel shortages, particularly in gasoline supply.
Speaking on the sidelines of a Tuesday, meeting between members of the Agriculture Committee and senior executives of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, Askari said that despite enemy attacks and damage to some oil infrastructure, “the oil industry demonstrated outstanding performance throughout its operations chain, including timely and efficient distribution of petroleum products.”
He added that during the third imposed war, “the management displayed by the Ministry of Oil was revolutionary and jihadi in nature, ensuring that fuel stations faced neither shortages nor shutdowns.”
Askari further noted that damaged oil facilities would be rebuilt in the shortest possible time through the ministry’s planning and prudence, adding, “The parliament will also support the oil industry in this regard.”
Referring to the fuel supply for agricultural machinery, Askari emphasized that “providing fuel for agricultural machines and equipment is of great importance to the Agriculture Committee because it is directly tied to the nation’s food security.” He said positive reports on the issue were presented during the meeting.
Askari pointed out that fuel consumption in the agricultural sector is estimated at 4 to 10 percent, adding that it was agreed that one member of the Agriculture Committee, in consultation with the Majlis Research Center, would identify and resolve the challenges related to fuel supply in agriculture.
