South Pars adjusts production, development plans after war
The head of oil and gas engineering at Pars Oil and Gas Company said the company has reviewed and restructured production, maintenance and development plans for the South Pars gas field to reflect constraints and conditions following the war.
Ashkan Asadi said production scenarios, rig allocations and drilling priorities have been readjusted with the goal of preserving maximum production capacity and returning more quickly to prior output levels. He spoke at a meeting reviewing performance and forecasting production at the South Pars gas field.

Asadi emphasized the field's maximum production capacity upstream, noting that any additional rich gas processing capacity brought online at refining facilities can be matched by feed supply from South Pars wells and platforms. He said accelerating the restoration of refining capacity is therefore a priority.

He also stressed the need to focus on production maintenance programs for the shared South Pars field, saying cumulative rich gas extraction from the field has reached more than 110 trillion cubic feet. Over the next 10 to 15 years, he said, South Pars will remain the most important source of gas in Pars Oil and Gas Co.'s production portfolio, even as new fields are developed. He said that fact does not diminish the need to invest in maintaining South Pars production, and that reservoir preservation programs, supplemental drilling and pressure-boosting efforts must continue to be prioritized.

Asadi also addressed the scale of drilling operations at the field, saying total drilling at South Pars has reached about 1,600 kilometers — a figure he said reflects the significant scope of subsurface work carried out there.

The performance review and production forecast meeting was attended by Pars Oil and Gas Co.'s CEO, deputies, senior managers, development project heads and technical staff, along with representatives from the National Iranian Oil Co.'s integrated planning management and oil and gas production oversight management. Participants reviewed the latest production performance and the outlook for rich gas output from South Pars wells.

About Us

The section of oil, gas and petro-chemistry is the up-most and first industrial vantage of the country and the pivot of the Economy of Iran. Regarding the importance of this section and the need for coordinating and organizing the most active people in the field of production and exporting oil ,gas, and petrochemical products ,some forethoughtful and job- makers in the private section of the country decided to come together to fight against the threats by using the opportunity of mass intelligence and potentials.
