President Masoud Pezeshkian said Monday that Iran and Pakistan can meet many of their needs by relying on domestic and regional capabilities, stressing the importance of deeper economic and energy cooperation between the two countries.
According to president.ir, Pezeshkian made the remarks during a meeting Monday evening with Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. He pointed to a significant improvement in relations between the two nations, saying he was pleased that Pakistan has continued pursuing bilateral cooperation and expressing hope the engagement would deepen across all areas.
Pezeshkian also said US pressure has pushed Islamic countries toward greater unity and ongoing engagement, calling the frequent meetings and consultations between Iranian and Pakistani delegations a clear example of that trend.
He emphasized the need to boost investment and expand ties between various sectors of the two countries, saying he hoped that expanded investment, broader communication and easier economic cooperation would further deepen relations between Iran and Pakistan.
For his part, Naqvi said he was pleased to meet with the Iranian president and underscored the importance of elevating relations between the two countries.
