Iran's ambassador to Russia says Tehran's active participation in this week's summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum will help advance energy diplomacy, link regional networks and strengthen multilateral cooperation.
Kazem Jalali made the remarks in a post on the social platform X. He said Moscow will host the forum's eighth leaders' summit on Tuesday.
"Diplomatic momentum to shape the new order in the energy sector," Jalali wrote.
He said the cooperation of the forum's 12 full members and its observers, which together hold 70% of the world's gas reserves, plays a strategic role in stabilizing the market and charting a roadmap for the future.
Jalali described Iran's active presence as one of the world's largest holders of gas reserves, along with President Masoud Pezeshkian's continued consultations within the forum, as a key step toward improving energy diplomacy, connecting regional networks and strengthening multilateralism.
