Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Company said Iran has raised its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and sulfur exports with the easing of restrictions on shipments.
Hamidreza Araqi said that the high quality of exported items has been well received in the international market as many countries have indicated their readiness to buy LPG from Iran, reported Shana.
He said all the LPG and sulfur produced by Iran are being sold with a major part destined for international markets. "NIGC is placed the marketing of these products high on its agenda," said Araqi.
Once new phases of the supergiant South Pars Gas Field go on-stream, he noted Iran will be able to exports more byproducts and ensure a firmer foothold in international markets.
Iran's sulfur output grew by at least 20 percent in the month to April 19 compared to the figure for the same month last year.
Iran exports five million tons of LPG annually and this is expected to increase dramatically once new phases of South Pars Gas Field become operational.
