Finland calls for expanding ties with Iran
Finnish Ambassador to Iran Harri Kamarainen called for expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in the trade and economic fields.

"My country was among the first European states that started expanding relations with Iran after the international agreement was reached between Iran and the six major world powers (the US, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany)," the Finnish envoy said on Saturday, reported Fars News Agency.
He noted that under current circumstances, there is no serious problem for Iran's activity in the global market.
The Finnish diplomat underlined the importance of getting familiar with the capacities of the two countries suggesting the exchange of trade delegations as a means to achieve this.
Iran's exports to Finland include hand-made carpets, fruits, furniture and glassware.
In a relevant development in late October, Tehran and Helsinki signed four cooperation agreements on energy, communications, technology, environment and investment.
The signing ceremony in Tehran was attended by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his visiting Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinistö.
A memorandum of understanding on energy sector was one of the documents signed by Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian and Finnish Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen.
In the field of communications and technology, Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi and his Finnish counterpart Kai Mykkänen signed a cooperation agreement on further cooperation.
The third agreement on natural resource management was signed between Head of Iran's Forests and Rangelands Organization Khodakaram Jalali and Finland's Kai Mykkänen.
Iran's Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Mohammad Khazaei and Finland's Executive Vice President Jussi Haarasilta inked the fourth MoU on cooperation between Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran and Finland's Export Credit Agency Finnvera.
